Not working hdmi to vga in my monitor

Sir i am using windows 7 ultimate when i plugged hdmi to my laptop and vga to monitior no response comes what do now iam using hdmi to vga cable

HDMI carries only a digital signal.
VGA carries only an analog signal.
The two are not compatible. You will need to find an active HDMI to VGA CONVERTER. A simple cable or adapter will not work.
