[SOLVED] Notebook beeps every hour. Why?

PLEASE HELP. My wifes notebook (a Hewlett Packard HP 355 G2) has taken to beeping 8 times every hour. I Heslet Packard's website doesn't seem to have a solution or an identification of this function. Any ideas?

How old is the laptop? You might want to see if the beeps persist with the battery to the laptop removed and with only the wall adapter plugged in and powering the laptop.

You might also want to remove the sticks of ram, the laptop's battery(not the CMOS) and disconnect from the wall and press and hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds. Reconnect the ram and power up using the adapter. If there's no beeps, power down, disconnect from the wall and then reconnect the battery and see if you can power up without beeps.
