Nothing on Monitor

Hey guys,

Ok so i got this older ACER computer (do not know the specs), but when I turn it on nothing shows up on the monitor. All the lights and fans turn on including the graphics card one and there is power to my mouse and monitor yet i get no images. Could the graphics card be shot even if the fan turns on? or is it something else?

So i tried hoooking up to the onboard graphics yet there is no success. could the mother board be shot even though everything is still turning on? including all the fans?

Your help is greatly appreciated.
