Building a new system, currently have a Ryzen 7 3700x and Aorus Master X570 motherboard. Can't decide on what speed ram to use.
Want RGB for looks and 32gb as will be doing a little editing as well as gaming. Would prefer 4 x 8gb, again mainly for looks. Looking at G. SKILL Trident Z F4-3466C16Q-32GTZR with timings of 16-18-18-38 currently available at £214 or the F4-3600C16Q-32GTZNC with timings of 16-19-19-39 with a price of £259. Any noticeable performance difference between these 2 sets? Next set up the scale are 3600 with cl16-16-16-36 timings but much higher cost of £359. Do not really want want recommendations for any other make of ram.
Thanks.

Seems massively overpriced. I’ve got these https://www.scan.co.uk/products/32g...600-3200-non-ecc-unbuff-cas-16-135v-amd-ryzen

Running on a B450 Tomahawk Max with a 3700x and easily overclocked it 3600 while keeping the same timings. If you go the 4 stick route you are more likely to have issues getting it to run at the rated speed. As for looks Corsair do dummies you can drop in the other slots https://www.scan.co.uk/products/cor...inc-2x-ddr4-dummy-modules-with-10-addressable

Between any of these setups the real world performance difference is negligible, you are only going to see the difference in benchmarks but you will never notice it.

Thanks, I hadn't considered doing this with dummy modules. I've got a Corsair case with RGB fans and AIO too so these would fit in well. Was overclocking the ram difficult or just a case of upping the voltage?

At first I just upped the voltage and speed and it worked fine. However I later saw the Ryzen DRAM calculator which calculates better settings and I am now using that.
