NT Backup Utility

Having an issue with NT Backup Utility.

My assumption is that NT Backup is designed to backup to one
tape/media only. The problem I am having is that the NT Backup names
all tapes with the same name after a backup is complete. This becomes
a problem when trying to restore because NT Backup asks for a tape, of
which we have seven with the same name, so it may take seven times to
find the right tape with the right file to restore. Has anyone had
this or a similar issue?

Is there a way to name each tape correctly? Do I have to create a new
job for each day? Does anyone know of a better (free) Backup Utility
that can be used in a business environment?

Run ntbackup /? to see the various switches available to you.
Several allow you to label your tapes. Use a unique label for
each tape, then use a pen to mark each tape with the same
label, for ease of identification.
