I have a Windows NT 4.0 SBS server which is primarily
used for exchnage and is due to be replaced in the next 6
to 12 months.

I am looking to introduce a new Windows 2003 server in a
separate domain to the existing SBS server for obvious
reasons. I would, however, still want to be able to
access the exchange mail boxes. Is this possible without
upgrading to SBS2000 or 2003.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Matthew

you will run into troule with the NT4 SBS as it cannot Trust or be trusted
by another Domain, my understanding of Exchange 5.5 is it requires a NT user
account to authenticate the client. What are your reasons behind not using
W2k3 SBS, as I think this would be my favourite option

Eventually, I would like to replace the SBS 4 server with
W2K3 and full Exchange. Although, I am keeping my mind
open to SBS 2003 as it may be the only cost effective
solution.

If understand right on the licensing - If I have W2K3 SBS
and a W2K3 server with a total of 20 clients, I need 20
CAL's for W2K3 SBS as well as 20 CAL's for W2K3. Is this
correct?
