I have 1 a/c dc with all 5 roles on it, as I seized the roles since my first
dc is off and will stay that way. I do have the first one in my list of sites
and dsa however and when I try to delete it I get the "The DSA object cannot
be deleted" message. I try to run a ntdsutil and do the following:

Start, run ntdsutil.
metadata cleanup
connections
connect to server first2k (all good)
quit
select operation target
select server second2k (error 80070057 parsing input - illegal syntax)
same on select domain or select site
I do list domains and I get my test2.local domain

Any thoughts?

NTDSUtil in 2K is somewhat rigid. Try
http://www.readymaids.com/Portals/1/Docs/xferfsmos.htm.

Thank you very much Deji Akomolafe. I was stuck at not selecting the site,
then domain, then server, I was trying to get to the server directly but
did'nt find it since I had to connect to sites and domains first (as the
target, I could connect to my active server okay). thank you for you info, I
deleted my dead server and its thanks to you.
