Ntvdm has stopped working

downloaded update patch from intuit re 2011 fed tx. Install stopped with "ntvdm.exe has stopped working". Any ideas before I painfully attempt contact with intuit?

ntvdm.exe is a program/service that helps run older programs.

Are u trying to install program that is too old and not compatible?

What program is it?
