I am going to be needing to set up a home network connecting 2 PC's to a cable internet modem, and then to share 2 printers [one a Brother MFC with FAX capability; the other an Epson wide format inkjet] between those PC's.
The cable modem has only one RJ45 type port. Both PCs are running Win7 x64. Both have only one RJ45 LAN port. To begin with they both will be located in the same room. After a few months they will be located in separate rooms, but the network will still need to, be maintained.
While I'm not exactly sure what a router is, I'm probably going to need one, right?
That is about the extent of my knowledge about networking. can anyone guide me on this?
