Number of Gpu Power connectors Affect Performance?

Does the amount of pins on a Gpu power connector affect performance? For Example, the Msi 1080 gaming z has 6+8 pins, while the Gigabyte G1 1080 has only 8 pins. Will the lack of pins affect performance, since I would like to overclock the card.

Performance will still be very similar , although some of the higher power cards do have more OC ability.

I would like to overclock the card to 2000MHz ( Higher if cold enough ). The card will be watercooled, too. Which one should I get?
