Thanks dude. Ya I threw a bit of "in your face" in this post.. but you gotta understand how persecuted I've been in the past.. and the things I've said about the past are true, and the things I'm saying about the future... well... just wait and we'll see.
I dont want to get into one of those huge flamewars again with a bunch of haters who cant stand what I say, or the way I say it (not you, others who might come across this).. but simply put... from my analysis NV is a wiser company with superior engineering and better support (longterm and short term).. plus I've had tons more issues with ATI hardware and their drivers than NV.
Its not that I dont know what I'm doing. Or that I'm unfair to them.
In the beginning (sounds a bit biblical)... I was very fair now every once in a while I'll give their stuff a shot like I did with my 9800s and not much has changed when it comes down too it.
Crappy driver releases that occur more often (every month) dont make up for the basis of the problem to exist.. crappy drivers.
I'm glad you find my posts interesting and informative.
And I hope I shed some light on why over time, I've came to be very pro-NV.. I'm not so much anti-ATI.. I think their performance as a corporation speaks for itself.
I'm merely pointing out why certain decisions NV has made are wise.
I've never used hardware for so many years (from a TNT2 to my soon to be 6800 Ultra) and been so satisfied..
so it comes from experience and education on the technology.
In all my years of computing (starting on a Commodore 64) I've never seen such a consistent company with great support.
Note- I wont be responding to inflammatory responses to this post.. so waste your breath if someone will.. I wont be responding.
