i have just installed win2k on the following
tyan trinity400
celery 667@1ghz
256mb ram
20gb quantum udma66 7200rpm
geforce2 pro
hcf modem
12x burner
8x dvd
40x cd

i installed the latest drivers for the graphics card (12.41) it rebooted ok. rebooted again and it came up with an error about nv4_mini.sys.

could this be because i have not installed sp1,2 or even the via win2k agp patch? or does anyone have any more ideas.

please dont tell me to slow the cpu down either as it ran 100% stable in win98se

I too just did an install of Win2k, I just installed 12.42 drivers for my GeForce card but I have installed SP1 and have no problems with this nv4_mini thing. Could be the service pack. I have not installed the agp registry fix, but so far games run pretty decent so I'm changing anything until I have to. It could be your processor. Just because it worked in one system doesn't mean it will work in another.

i thought win2k was kinder to o/c'ing than win98se i was gonna try and push it further still!
