nVentiv filed for bankruptcy.

I was just looking around the web at different cooling options, namely phase-change. Turns out that nVentiv, maker of the über-famous Prometeia line of coolers, filed for bankrupcy on June 8th of this year. More info can supposedly be found at <A HREF="http://www.hexus.net" target="_new">Hexus.net</A>, though I can't find it.

Looks like Vapochill and old stock of Prommys are the only option for extreme OCing :frown: .

i know, its pretty sad. i just ordered one of the last generation Mach II GT compressors, since i knew they wouldnt be available much longer and ill need something for my fx-55 lol. i really hope someone else comes into that segment, vapochill is ok, but with no competition, progress will be slow.

fx-55? LOL did you mean fx-51 or fx-53? cause i've never seen a fx-55. I could be wrong but that would be a hella fast cpu.

no i meant fx-55. its not out yet, im just saving up and ill be ready to buy once it is out. i have an fx-51 that ive been ocing, and ill be upgrading to fx-55 to get on s939 and 90nm.

well i was thinking the fx-55 would be a good point to change platforms, then i wont have to change ram and sockets for quite some time, even getting the option of using dual core next year, right now im kind of limited on the 940 socket and the boards are so limited, none of them even support pci/agp lock so it was kind of a waste to buy an fx-51 anyway now that i look back. so ill upgrade and get alot of things i need for more proper overclocking

If I had known about their demise, I would have done the same. Damn you lucky/smart/informed b@st@rd!

Anyway, lets hope that Vapochill doesn't just let things play out--they need a powerful standalone unit like the Machs...not some all-in-one case like they have now.

Oh well, one can only hope I suppose.
