Hey everyone,

Lately, I’ve been dealing with a frustrating issue with my GPU. When I boot my system, it runs for about 10 minutes before freezing, sometimes on the last frame or a black screen. Occasionally, I can still hear audio from whatever was running for about 10 seconds after the freeze. I then have to restart using the power button, and this happens two or three times before it finally starts working normally, usually on the third or fourth boot. This has been happening for several days now.

In the Event Viewer, I usually see this error:
The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
CMDre 00000008 00003ffc ffffffff 00000007 00ffffff

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

I also usually see Event ID 153 right before this error pops up.

From what I’ve read, this could be related to RGB or fan control software, but as far as I know, I don’t have any installed. I also have no overclocks or underclocks on my GPU. Here’s what I’ve tried so far to fix the issue:
  • Updating Graphics Drivers
  • Updating Windows 11
  • Using DDU to reinstall drivers
  • Reseating the graphics card
  • Reseating the RAM

My specs are:
  • GPU: RTX 3050
  • CPU: i3-9100F
  • Ram: 2x8GB running at 2400 mhz
  • PSU: XPG Core Reactor 650W Gold
  • Mobo: Gigabyte H310M S2H
  • OS: Windows 11
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help!
