Nvidea Drivers Not Installing

So my computer recently ran into some issues and I was having a lot of trouble with it, so I thought the easiest and quickest way to fix this was to completely reset my computer. When I did this it got rid of absolutely everything as I hoped so, but I think It might've been a mistake. All my other programs and drivers installed properly except for my Nvidea drivers, and its restricting me from the games I like to play on my computer. Whenever I Attempt an installation on the drivers, the display shuts off, as if the drivers were being activated, but then it blue screens and i get an error message saying "system_thread_has_not_been_handled (nvlddmkm.sys)". I've tried older versions of the drivers, I've tried completely uninstalling the drivers using DDU, Ive tried replacing the nvlddmkm.sys in my C:windows/system32/drivers, and now I'm lost looking throughout the internet trying to find someone with the same issue as me but I can't! any help would be greatly appreciated. Could it be a problem with my actual graphics card? :/

I wouldn't say it's an issue with the graphics card per say but its the OS that's preventing you from installing your drivers. You did mention you performed a reset but was there any other reason why you didn't go for a reinstall? Try performing a repair install prior to shooting off for a reinstall. Speaking of installation's, is this installation of Windows 10 anew or availed from the free upgrade path?

Might also want to shoot your full systems specs as well.

I have the free upgrade version, would downgrading to Windows 8 be better? I've been considering it, I just don't know how...
