Hi,

I have a nvidia 8600 GT 256mb graphics card. And a DG33FB Intel motherboard. I started my computer today and under device manager I do not see my video card there. I'm either thinking the card burned out or the motherboard. I tried taking out the card back in and out but no luck. I am running Windows XP. My computer is currently using the bad stock graphics from windows so I need my gpu to run to fix this

smorizio, thanks for the quick reply.

In device manager, there is no "display adaptors"
I have Other Devices with a yellow question mark, and under it
Video controller with a yellow question mark.

I updated the BIOS, no results. Also tried system restore.

When i try updating to nvidia drivers it says "the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" even though I do have the appropriate hardware.

smorizio,

I downloaded both. In Device manager under "display adapters" I see Intel((R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family.
I also see it under the display tab in dxdiag.
However it does not seem like my nvidia 8600 GT is being recognized by either one. I also tried to use msi Afterburner to see if my gpu was detected and the fan was running, but it didn't detect one either.
Thanks for all your help thus far.
