So today I was just doing a bit of running around and made a stop into BestBuy. Wandered around the store for a bit and ended up in the computer department. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the new Nvidia 9600Gt cards for sale there. All they had were the BFG ones but I like that company. They were priced at $229 wich doesnt suprise me as Best Buy useally overcharges on all its computer parts. If anyone is looking for the card though, it is out and for sale now.

Don't complain too much... my local Wal-Mart has an ATI X1300 on sale for $139... and if you REALLY hate money and want it to just all go away... they've still got an Nvidia FX5200 on the shelf for $79.

well i think the 9600gt is gonna be around $180 and it doesnot peform as well as the 8600gt but its pretty close. i think the nvidia was just trying to make a card that performs the same as the 8600gt but make it cheaper and cooler

I think Cal misspoke. The 9600GT owns the 8600GT. Especially since it is the same as the 8800GT but with 64 stream processors instead of 112.

This is why I hate BB:

They have an BFG 8800GT for $279. They have the BFG 8600GTS for the SAME price!!! Talk about price gouging.

I hear you. Now if some ignorant customer bought the 8600GTS for $279, whose fault is it? BB or the customer?

I got my two BFG 8800GT OC's from BestBuy for $238 each a couple months ago. Maybe they'll have a good 9600GT sale sometime. Given G92 supply and prices now, I doubt Besbuy will offer a stellar price on any G94's though. Shoot, even 20% off still stinks.
