Hey guys,

I have asked a question about these two cards not long ago and decided to get the 980 MSI but then I saw people saying for the difference between the two the extra £200 isn't worth what you're getting, so...could you lovely people give me your opinions if you think the 980 is worth the extra £200 or should I stick with the 970 MSI Gaming edition?.

I was comparing the MSI 970 and 980 and they seem very similar in specs, of course 980 is better but is it worth the large amount more?. Now I am perfectly fine with spending the extra money but if it's for a slightly better card then I'd rather keep the extra money and go with the 970 :).

Cheers ladies and gents!.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.

If the extra price is not a big problem for you, I say buy the GTX980.
If you don't, you will forever wonder if you should have.

I have rarely regretted paying a premium for the best.
I have often regretted paying less for something not as good.

I agree with geofelt.

You have to realize that high-end products are NEVER good value per dollar. This is the case with anything, from cars to food to gpus. Usually, going from the second best, to the best requires an exponentially larger effort, hence the increases cost and lower value.

If you want the best, get the best. Don't settle for something cheaper because its a better value, because you will always regret not getting the best.

That is very true. It's a fair bit more expensive but 20% better is also a decent difference...still 50/50 blah hate making decisions! :p
