Not to mention the size & weight of the heatsink and fans it would need.

The funny thing about Switch is that it launched when that SoC was already kind of old and about to be superseded. I think Nintendo wasn't even trying to make it very powerful. I think they just wanted something cheap enough that they could price it aggressively if uptake was weak. They were probably feeling desperate, after the poor reception to Wii U.
