Nvidia & ATI cards instability

Hi,
I have 2 graphics cards in my PC, an Nvidia NVS295 in my PCIe x16 slot and an ATI FireGL V3100 in the PCIe X1 slot. (someone had hacked off the back of this to put it in the X1 slot, it was originally an X16).

Having installed this, I have noticed that my PC has been somewhat unstable, particularly when running RAM intensive stuff (ANSYS)

Is this just because I have 2 conflicting drivers, should I ditch the ATI driver?

I don't get a blue screen or an error code, just a black screen.

Anyone have any ideas?

Still, could a driver issue be causing my instability?

Your problem is easily solved ,

Take out one card
