Nvidia card or freesync advantage

Hi everyone, I'm planning to build a PC and need help with the GPU. Wanted to go for a GTX 1070 Ti but I have a Viewsonic xg2401 monitor with freesync. The other two options are the rx 580 or a vega 56, to take advantage of freesync. 80% of the games are shooters and I would like to play in 1080p and reach 144 fps. About settings I do not need to play in ultra, I can play in medium graphics, there is no problem.

In my country, vega 56 is a bit more expensive than 1070 Ti.

Suggestions? Thank you.

Well, I think that if you have the money, it is not worth getting the rx580.
The real question is what is the price difference between the gtx1070ti and the vega 56.
Make sure that you are not buying an overpriced video card and by that I mean that if the price of the vega 56 is more than $150 higher than the nvidia gpu, then get the gtx1070ti.
Vega 56 is a bit weaker than the gtx1070ti, but if you can take advantage of freesync it is worth an extra couple of bucks because it really helps with fast-action shooter games (e.g. CS:GO).

The Vega 64 is a powerful card, but it comes at the cost of high power usage and heat.....it's probably not a deal breaker, but keep that in mind. Otherwise, it will be more than enough for 1080p 144Hz gaming, as long as your CPU and PSU are also up to the job.

WOW.... Vega 56 is a VERY good deal! But if you have the money do go for vega 64, the strongest in the lineup, considering that both are cheaper than the gtx1070ti. Just make sure that you have a decent PSU that can handle either vega 56 or 64 because they require a lot of power to operate.
EDIT: You will need to clarify if vega 56 is indeed "a bit more expensive than 1070 Ti" as you said in your OP, or if it is cheaper as you mentioned afterwards.

The vega 56 is the ASUS ROG Strix model with 3 coolers.

About "a bit more expensive than 1070 Ti", when i created the post it was that, but then the offer appeared

With these price tags, it pretty much depends on the rest of your build. Your specs would help but unless there is a tremendous change, the vega 64 should be FIRE along with freesync. Vega 56 is a very solid option as well but its sibling is more futureproof and at that price is very tempting.

I do not have anything yet, as I saw the offer then I thought I would take advantage of it, but I have thought about an i5-8400 or i5-8600k,16GB ram with the maximum Mhz capacity and Samsung 970 evo M.2.

Don't know if you need more info. Thanks

If that is the case, everything has fallen into place. I suggest that you get the 8600k along with a VEGA 64 if you have the money. In order to achieve that you will need at least a 550w psu unless you are going to overclock both your CPU and GPU. If you get the vega 56 though, I'd recommend that you get up to a good quality 550w PSU. Either way, you will get a very potent gaming machine.

Already bought Vega56, now i'm thinking between 8400, 8600k and 8700 ... For the 8600k will have to think about a Z370 mobo, a good cooler and 2666+ Ram Mhz.

Nice! My opinion is grab whatever you can afford.
For example, 8400, 8600k and 8700 will all be able to drive your vega 56 to its limits.
So whatever you chose you will be fine.
I recommend that you get the 8600k with a z370 mobo, so you can overclock it and achieve results close to the i7 8700 and by doing this you will be able to save a few bucks.
Just be sure to get a good cooler like the NH D15 (or a watercooler like the masterliquid 240), so the CPU doesn't overheat.

I want to go for the i5 8600k and overclock it at some point, the problem is that I do not have the money for that processor, a mother Z370, an AIO cooler (which I really like is the Kraken x62) and a good PSU.

I have 2 options, go for an 8400/8700, B360 mobo and forget about overclock or go for the 8600k with Z370 mobo, CM Hyper H411r and later buy the Kraken x62 and better PSU.

The PC wil be 100% for gaming, and 90% are shooter games like i said.

Prices here where i live w/o shipping:
-8400: $200
-8600k: $285
-8700: $350
-ASUS B360-G ROG Strix: $110
-ASUS Z370-G ROG Strix: $160
-CM H411r: $30
-Kraken x62: $235

(Yes, going for a mATX build)

Feel free to suggest other options. Thanks!!

There should be an 8600 non k model which you can match with a B360 mobo and not overclock it.
After all, since the PC is for gaming, you needn't overclock unless there is a serious bottleneck.
Also, if it helps, how about an AMD ryzen 2600 and an x470 mobo? After all, the ryzen 2600's performance in games is comparable to the 8600 and may even be better in multitasking.

I prefer Intel, but the thing is i'm going for a mATX build, and i live in Argentina, i have very few, almost nothing, mobo options here.

Also 8600 is not available here

OK, then either go for 8400 or 8700 with ASUS B360-G ROG Strix (I recommend 8700 if you have the money)
or 8600k with ASUS Z370-G ROG Strix.
