Hey guys i have a gtx 970.
i went on holidays and when i left everything was running fine.
I returned and when i started my pc it was in 800x640, the screen resolution. I tried to change it in display settings however it said it cant be done. So i assumed this was because of a nvidia update. I checked and there was an update. I updated and it said i have to restart my computer. clicked restart and its still in 800x640 and i cant change it. Also whenever i restart when nvidia asks me to i get a windows notification saying your display driver has been updated please restart. Each time i restart it doesnt seem to be fixing it and i keep receiving the message. The vga side of the graphics card is working and i also plugged in my old gpu and it worked just fine. (amd)

Could someone help me?

i used the DDU and it my resolution was fine, i then reinstalled the nivida drivers and everything was fine. Geforce experience however says theres no drivers and makes me download and install everything i just did, it then says restart and when i restart im back to the 800x600 resolution. Should i just not update on geforce so my resolution is normal?

Yeah , if the geforce experience update is messing with things ignore it.
