Just installed video card amd driver. Everything works fine unless i open nvidia control panel then my screen goes blank and the only way to fix it is to ctrl alt delete and log off. Then it will throw an error with nvidia control panel and i can log back on.

Windows 7 64bit
Geforce 7800 gtx driver 7.15
11.58 18. 158.18

Edit:
Since this chip is an msi nx7800gtx 256mb i went to msi website for driver. The version listed there is 158.18. After going to nvidia website the latest driver is 309 something. Im downloading now and going to try it

Solution
I think it's a typo and he meant "and". Also yes, download the drivers from nvidia, not MSI. Also running DDU in safe mode to uninstall the current ones might help make sure no problems carry over to the new drivers.
No idk why tag says amd. Probably because i typed amd instead of and cus i use a trash smartphone with touchscreen.

Anyways i downloaded the new nvidia driver instead of the old one msi listed ill report back if it works
