To adjust the display of a game, I tried to access the NVIDIA contract panel. I am sporting a GTX 760 card. I have used the control panel before, but this time, an error pops out, saying "You are not currently using a display attached to a NVIDIA GPU." I had no such problem a month ago. When I go to "manage devices" I see that the computer recognizes my card. All my drivers are updated.
I have read somewhere that I need to reinstall the software but I am afraid to do so without consultation because I am completely new with computers.
Please, if anyone knowledgeable out there could so kindly help me out, step by step, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First of all download Driver sweeper from here: http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweeper.html and extract it.
And download CCleaner from here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ and install it.
Then follow the steps below:
1. Uninstall your graphics driver through the control panel->Program and Features.
2. (Important)Restart and boot into safe mode.
3. Run Driver Sweeper and unistall all gpu drivers in your pc.
4. Restart and boot to the regular desktop.
5. Run CCleaner.
6. Reboot
7. Install the new driver
8. Restart
