I just love having some extra saturation, and Nvidia Control Panel's video color setting does the trick for me, however, these doesn't apply to VLC media player.

No matter what I do; reset settings, uninstalled and reinstalled VLC I can't get VLC to obey the color settings.

What could have gone wrong here? Any fixes/workarounds?

Specs:
Ryzen 5 3600 (Stock clocks but with a -0.125 Offset undervolted; cause of overheating)
1*8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DRR4 3200 MHz CL16
MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC
ROG Strix GTX 1660 Ti
Addlink S70 512GB (Boot drive)
Samsung 860 EVO 500GB
Corsair CX650M PSU
Windows 11 Build 22000.120 (The issue was present back when I was on non-insider Windows 10 too)
Nvidia control panel 8.1.961.0
GeForce game ready driver 471.68

Thanks

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Source for VLC?

What version of VLC?

Did you manually do the VLC uninstall, download, and reinstall? You are not using any third party installers or utilities - correct?

I did find the following VLC link:

https://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_HowTo...he menu bar, select, and Gamma may be adjusted.

Were you able to try those configuration settings?

Maybe a command line adjustment may work.

Done! And;
Source was the official Videolan site.
Version 3.0.16 (64) bit
I've manually uninstalled at first, then tried uninstalling with IObit uninstaller for no luck.

Those configuration settings were able to do my job only when I had Nvidia panel's color settings reset to default, as intended. I.e. only VLC player having it's video colors adjusted, but I want colors of video adjusted systemwide. But unfortunately, VLC isn't obeying that setting. :(

However, when the video output setting on VLC is changed to Direct3D9, it obeys the Nvidia panel setting, but then again not for x265 compressed content.
