I @all

I recently got a MSI GS60 2QE Ghost Pro 3K Gold Edition gaming laptop. Now i have some problems with my Nvidia GTX 970M. First I installed Skyrim but if I run it with Steam then the menu-screen doesn't appear. There is just a white zero instead of the menu and the rest of the screen is black. I discovered that Skyrim only recognizes the Intel Graphic Chip HD 4600. My GTX 970M is not listed. I tried to run Dark Souls II. Here the menu works but if i want to start the game it crashs. The indie game Gone Home works but only with 2fps.

The only game which runs perfectly is Minecraft and if I check my GPU with GPU-Z it is working. But with the other games it isn't.
I checked the www and read about the Nvidia optimus programm. So I tried to start the Nvidia control panel but then it says: you are not currently using display attached nvidia gpu

In the device control I can see that the Intel Chip is disabled and the GTX 970M is selected but it doesn't seem that it is working properly...

I installed the new Nvidia 347.09 but it didn't change anything.

I hope one of you knows a solution, I would really like to play my games :(

Thanks to every idea!

Some laptops have a physical switch to select between integrated and discrete graphics.

Did you install the right nvidia driver?
The usual desktop one is not correct, you need the mobile version.

You should be able to access the nvidia control panel and there will be a manage 3d option.
There you can select integrated or discrete graphics.

I can't find a physical switch...
Geforce Experience is installed and it told me that there is a new driver so I installed it with Geforce Expierence. But i will check it again. I know that there is the option in the Nvidia control panel but i can't open it. The nvidia control panel always tells me that there is no display attached to a gpu and it closes the window when i klick ok.
Thanks anyway!

Edit: I reinstalled the Nvidia driver. Didn't help...i cant play any game besides Minecraft. BF4 even tells me that there is no GPU connected to my system... and with GPU-Z I can see that the Intel Chip tries to handle the games but no chance...

I reinstalled this driver but no change... what happens if I uninstall the Intel Graphics Driver? Wouldn't it be forced to use the Nvidia 970M chip?
I just have some respect of it... I don't want to end up with a laptop without any graphic output...^^

I read another article and it says to disable iGPU in the BIOS/UEFI. I tried it but i can't even find the option in the BIOS but I'm not used to work in the BIOS so I droped the idea...

Edit: I tried Bf4 again and received this error:

So I found the problem. For an unknown reason the Intel Graphic Chip has been disabled in the Device Manager. This caused all these problems. I enabled it and now every thing works properly! :D
Thanks anyway! :)

I know this is an old post, but this helped me, thanks! Btw for anyone looking, I was using the alienware 13 with 860, and hooked it up to the external graphics amplifier, which mustve turned off my intel HD.
