I have a base model Zotac 1660 ti which I'm overclocking. If I leave the core voltage untouched I can't overclock the memory past +960. I've seen many people online overclocking to +1000 and even to the full +1500. I've read online that some overclockers say to leave the core voltage alone, but I pushed the core voltage to the full +100% in MSI Afterburner to see if I could go higher. With it set to the +100% I can now set my memory to +1500 and it does translate to a few extra fps with the bump. My question is: Is it safe to leave the core voltage at the max or should I go to the trouble of lowering it until the overclock fails to find the least % I need to set it at? I've read that Nvidia board are designed to prevent you from doing any real damage.
