News Nvidia could face massive $1 billion fine over antitrust violations in China — Nvidia's Mellanox acquisition is in Beijing's crosshairs

If I calculate correctly based on Q3 results, $1bn means a loss of ~4 days of profits for NVIDIA.
Exactly. If Nvidia prioritizes biz by price paid, China might not get anything.

I'm sure they want Mellanox NICs before those are deemed restricted.
Nvidia should sue back for the hacking.

BTW if the author wants to and feels qualified to report on tax management strategies, it might be more investigative as to why the government creates tax shelters for the billionaire class in the first place. Maybe somewhere for government employees to put their nest eggs while allowing companies to claw back retirement plans and pensions.

It's 10% of only Chinese-based 2024 revenues; that's nothing. Heck, if I was nVidia, I would just come to an agreement (which agreements are compromises/negotiations, so less than the indictment charge) and get it over with.
