I have a legion desktop 90NC0001US running windows 10. Adobe products like Premiere Pro will not use my factory Nvidia GeForce 1650 Super on the last recommended driver in the Lenovo support system which is from way back in May 2021. If I upgrade the driver with the latest one from Nvidia, the machine hard crashes often, throwing a DPC watchdog violation. This has damaged files like powerpoints and word files. Not good. So I went back to the May 2021 driver that Lenovo offers and everything works fine for a very long time, when I try updating the card driver again later hoping it is better, it starts crashing again. So this is definitely the problem.
I went to Nvidia and looked at older drivers and realized they offer "standard" and "DCH" drivers for this card. DCH is a newer way to package and install drivers. Drivers that are "standard" are only available from Nvidia until Dec 2021 and then they must have given up on the old ways. If I install that Dec 2021 standard driver all is good. If I install anything newer that is DCH the crashing begins. So what can I do to get my system to accept the DCH driver system? It installs fine so not sure what to do. Can't keep the same ancient graphics card driver forever.
