Id like to let all the gamers through out the world know my story. so that this evil company don't do this to you.

a week ago the fan on one of my 970gtx shattered so I requested rma from nvidia. emails were exchanged and nvidia comes to the conclusion that they will not honor theyre warranty on 1 yr old reference model gtx970's. I received these cards as a gift and don't a receipt, which is a lousey excuse to not honor theyre warranty. amd has honored warrantys to me on products that were out of warranty and asked no questions. i want to post all the emails and all but its just way to much. I bought nvidia products for 20 years and never one time asked for an rma of any kind from them, and when i did. this is what i got.

Hello Paul,

We're sorry for the inconvenience caused, We forwarded your request to the RMA team and unfortunately without any purchase details, we would not be able to proceed with replacement. As per our RMA policy, we need a copy of purchase receipt.

Looking forward for your update,

Best Regards,
NVIDIA Customer Care

details i provided very clearly as to when they were purchased and where. only because they were a gift I don't have a receipt.

I told nvidia I would be posting this situation all over the internet to let the gamers all around the world know just how much they really care about us. and I will never buy another nvidia or nvidia based product from this day on. over a lousy 25$ fan replacement that they don't even offer to sell us if we choose to fix they're product have it be out of warranty or if it was our own fault that something like this may happen. amd don't conduct business like this. they actually care about us as the comsumer. people whom give these companys money and keep them going. I have read in the past of how nvidia is a major part of the companies that really don't care about us consumers once we give them our money.

Ive never been able to RMA anything, and I build PCs and virtual pinball tables for a living, without having the invoice or other documentation to prove my purchase. It is their policy, and pretty much every other component providers policy. Also, why are you contacting nvidia, they dont resell their own boards. At least not that ive seen, contact the company who made the GPU.

Call them up and ask for supervisor, if not than his manager. Explain what happen and you were gifted the GPU, or find out form them which retailer sold it, call them up ask for copy a receipt from the time of purchase since you need to for RAM process.

i have never had this problem with any company i have rma'd stuff with. including items that where not even under warranty from companys like amd on cpus and seagate and wd on hd's.

Most of the time unless it's an NVIDIA branded card they won't even look at it. You would have to go through the store first, then the manufacturer if the store can't replace it. And if it's a 3rd party card like MSI or EVGA, you would have to go through the OEM / manufacturer. That's pretty much the standard RMA protocol anywhere you are.

Yep. Shop > Manufacturer > nvidia, you should never need to reach the manufacturer.
