I was interested in trying to get the new driver released on the 15 to work on my pc, i have a gtx 1060 6gb from asus, and a acer xf251q freesync monitor, i found out i need a display port connection to get the freesync to work, would you know if a display to hdmi converter would do the trick or does it have to be a display to display connection?

Solution
I tried using a passive dp to HDMI with my monitor, I have an AMD GPU however, but my passive adapter limited my refresh rate to 60hz instead of 144. An active adapter may work if it will allow the full refresh rate of your monitor, but I have never tried one.

Would you think in the future they may implment the ability to do so? I dont have any display ports on my monitor, only hdmi and vga for display ports.

It's in the Nvidia control panel. I think you are supposed to turn off vsync in games. But I think the way it works is it basically has no sync until the top end of your monitors refresh rate, let's say you had a 75hz screen, so after you got 75fps or more, the system knows to drop some incomplete frames. I think they I saw it will allow some tearing but it's supposed to give good performance.

Well i do have a adapter for display to vga however i tried it and I couldnt get anything to work. Idk if maybe doing one with hdmi would work but i doubt it.
