Hello guys this is my first post here so I hope you could help me.
I have an ASUS x75 vc with Nvidia Gt 720m graphic card and since a while im not able to update my graphic's card driver, every time I try to update it with any other version it brings me the "drivers not compatible with this version of windows" error, it's now stuck at version 388.57 and the current version is 425.31, I tried updating through the device manager it didn't work out, I also tried using DDU method it always brings me back the 388.57 version.
I hope you could help me with issue.

try uninstalling all previous Nvidia software and drivers. then try installing the latest version for your particular card.
you can also try installing GeForce Experience and letting it automatically update.

maybe also check manufacturer forums and see if other owners are mentioning the same problem.

I had this frustrating problem too with my Nvidia card and Windows 10 but managed to finally sort it with the help of others.

Download the Nvidia driver you wish to install and save it somewhere on your PC - ready to install after after this uninstalling of your current driver process has finished.

Download Display Driver Uninstall (DDU) and run it.
Click on the 'recommended setting - Boot into Safe Mode'.
Very importantly - disconnect your router cable from your PC to stop Windows installing its latest driver.
Once you run DDU in Safe Mode it uninstalls your current driver.
Whilst still in Safe Mode install the Nvidia driver that you downloaded and saved.
Reboot your PC and it will boot into normal Windows mode.
Check your driver version in Control Panel, Devices to check it is indeed the driver version you downloaded.

Hope this helps as it sorted mine.

Definitely give this a shot, it's also worked for me. Just a note about an issue I had when trying to disconnect my network cable. When I did windows didn't recognize my login and it wouldn't allow me onto the desktop to run DDU. If I left network on it worked fine though. It didn't allow windows to download anything while in safe mode, and still let me run DDU. Try with no network first, but if it doesn't work, this may help.
