NVIDIA drivers can't detect 750 Ti

I just cobbled together a computer recently that utilizes the GeForce GTX 750 Ti. Lo and behold however that after sitting around installing drivers, I get to the installing the Nvidia drivers and they fail to install because they "Cant detect any compatible hardware".

I've tried drivers from Nvidia's site, Asus, and the ones that came in on the CD. All suffer from the same issue.

I RMA'd the first card, just received the replacement, still having the same issue.

Card is plugged into the PCI slot properly; Fans are spinning and so on. Video card doesn't show up in any utility that shows Display Adapters.

I'm banging my head against the wall here. I replaced the card, so in theory the second card isn't DOA. If I'm having the same issue then, could it be the motherboard? I don't have access to another PC or an alternate motherboard, so I can't really test via that method.

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Hero VII
Card: GEFORCE GTX 750 Ti

Please help. I'm rather stuck.

Ensure that you are putting into a PCI-E slot and not a regular PCI slot (I'm assuming you did this but you didn't specify PCI-E in your post).

Is your 750ti one that requires an external power connection from your power supply? I know that most of the 750ti's don't require a 6-pin, but a couple do.

This one has the 6-pin connector, and I've got it hooked up to the power supply appropriately.

Double checking the placement via the manual given, the card currently resides in PCIE_X8_2.
I'll be honest and say I haven't tried it in the other slots. An oversight on my part. I'll attempt putting it in the other PCIE slots and see if I get any other results as a precaution.

UPDATE: Moved card into top PCIE slot. PC booted but monitor couldn't register a signal (I'm using a VGA cable for the system if that matters.) Can't move card into bottom PCIE slot due to case/card size issues.

Back to square one.
