I have told quite a few people building for BF4 to wait for this scenario to play out. I hope those I advised waited until now to buy a new graphics card. Got to love competition. A GTX 780 for $499, isn't that just lovely.

Will this affect the prices of the partner cards? (i. e. asus, msi, gigabyte, galaxy) Also how long before places like newegg update their prices?

Some cards(evga gtx 770) in Newegg are already $329.

Never ever support a company that constantly rips its customers off whenever it gets the chance. It's just pathetic how quickly people forget. Shocking even!

Great news, but the price of the 780 Ti is still way too high. It will really have to be significantly more powerful than the R9 290X to justify $700 and I highly doubt that will be the case.

$499 gtx 780 sounds like really good catch, but if rumors are true r9 290 matches the performance and still $50 cheaper. I guess it's going to be Mantle vs. G-Sync & Phyx.

I'm not convinced. I'm a "whoever has the best card wins" kind of gamer. ATM I'm running 570's OC'd in SLI. Was thinking of a 780 then saw the 290x. But now?
Hmm, 500 for a 780? But for 50$ more I can get a card that has many better benchmarks than a Titan, and a Titan beats a 780.... Try again Nvidia, unless you lower your prices more or come out with something better, AMD is getting my money this round.

hahahaha, a 780 can beat a titan you silly boy. Why do little AMD commandos forget that the titan is irrelevant to bring up in the 780 vs R9 290X comparison and they only do it to try to throw dirt on green team fans faces.

THANK YOU AMD.......for bringing nvidia back to earth.....and for that i shall purchase 2 r9-290x............but please resolve ur driver issues amd

Amen, this is why AMD needed to do this, to slash those nasty prices. Hey, look on the positive side!! Nvidia made higher margins to reinvest into R&D for Maxwell and future designs!! (/sarcasm)

i think its obvious that the titan is irrelevant, it isnt even meant for gamers. The 780 Ti will be king and provide higher gaming performance than titan and 780, but will still lack compute.

And if anyone wonders this is why we should all want AMD to be competitive in the CPU space. Oddly enough the price of my 3570K has only changed by $10 over the same time frame.
