Nvidia Equivalent to R9 280

I have an MSI R9 280 and I am looking to upgrade to a nvidia card that preferably has either more or the same amount of VRAM (for powering multiple high resolution monitors. I've gone through two R9 280's that have been having heat problems and fan issues and I am thinking of just returning the card and switching to an Nvidia equivalent. Suggestions?

GTX 970

The GTX 760 is the equivalent of a R9 280.
The GTX 960 is slightly faster than both the GTX 760 and R9 280.
