ARE Nvidia fooling us?
Someone do the math.
They have already showed the world their inifinity fabric which allows multiple GPUs to communicate as one. Thereby increasing performance at WHATEVER factor.
Why couldnt they have just stuck 2 x 1080ti GPUs together using this (apparently lagless) fabric ??
No need for all this new architecture.
They've already proved it works on DGX 2.
They could of squeezed the life out of their suppliers. Got a couple of 1080ti chips down to next to nothing cost wise and produced twice the raw horse power without SLI or the need for anything else new !!
Surely the answer here is staring us all in the face. Theyve shown they know how to multiply the power of GPUs already.
Instead they are hitting us with incremental increases and some raytracing tech, that, lets be honest, isnt tracing everything anyway. It might improve games a bit but certainly not like purely doubling the amount of raw horse power instead.
And if they want the new features, sweet, use the fabrixmc and join 2 of the 2080 ti GPUs together and give us that.
All the best. Liam Cleary.
