Nvidia Geforce 930m desktop equivalent?

Hi. I recently got a Asus X555L laptop. It has an i5 5200U cpu and a 930m gpu. I know laptop parts are very weak compared to desktop parts. Come on!!! A dual core i5? That's ridiculous. Now to the matter at hand. What is the desktop counter part of a Gtx 930m? Thanks.

According to Notebookcheck.net, your 930m GPU is basically a rebranded 840m. It is a Kepler based part with 384 shaders.

The desktop equivalent would be a GT 740, which is Kepler with 384 shaders. Some may have DDR3 memory while others may have GDDR5, note that the GDDR5 equipped cards are probably a little faster than your 930m.

Clockspeeds between the 930m and GT 740 are within 100mhz of each other, so I'd say they are pretty equivalent.

Nvidia doesnt list the specs on their site, but probably similar to the GT 730 or something like that using DDR3 vram.

Yep.

Xbox one has 8 cores, much slower cores than your CPU. Its GPU is roughly equivelent to a desktop R7 265./gtx 750 ti.

It tubos to 2.7 Ghz actually, so unless it gets so hot that it throttles it'll be running faster than 2.2 Ghz.

As RobCrezz said, Xbox One CPU cores are pretty weak. It's a custom chip using 8 of AMD's CPU cores that were designed with tablets in mind (low power).

Don't understimate a well made CPU core. Often a couple powerful cores are better than many weak cores, and Intel knows it - which is why most intel laptop chips are dual cores. (Even a few i7 branded ones! I wish intel could keep to a consistent naming scheme though, their mobile lineup was confusing enough already)

The Xbox one's GPU is faster than yours, but frankly at your resolution it doesn't matter because the 930m is good enough.

I know right? I thought this lappy had a quad core(obviously I am not familiar with laptops) and never batted an eye.Eh....You can't get anything better in this price range anyway.
