NVidia geforce GT540M isn't detected at screen resolution > display, reinstalled, and still no luck. can't use nvidia display

so guys, i couldn't use my nvidia display even though the driver is installed correctly!

seems like my nvidia has something that isn't correct. also with 15 FPS on playing counter strike even though my processor is i7 with 8gb ram. any ideas with this?

okay so uninstalling my nvidia drive with DDU and installed it again looked like worked. BUT, it's still doesn't showed up at my screen resolution > display, there're no intel or even nvidia. i tried to click detect but it seems that it doesn't work. it won't detect a screen, any other help here?

will show you guys the screenshot of mine, i thought it said detected, but when i press detect the screen 2 and 3 still doesn't changed. any ideas?

It looks to me like it's an issue with the Nvidia Optimus software. It's what controls when your Nvidia graphics work and when the Intel graphics work.

If you right click on your desktop, or maybe in the start menu, you should have the Nvidia control panel. Inside that, I believe it's under 3d settings or something of that sort, it will have the options of preferred graphics processor. It may be on auto-select or intel. You will need to change it to Nvidia.

It's a power saving feature.

Another thing to check is the power settings. Go into control panel, then power options and select "High Performance".

I believe one of those two things should fix your issue.

beta drivers? no mate, i even uninstalled the nvidia drivers using DDU and install the nvidia Geforce GT540M drivers again from the official site

i'm done changing at nvidia graphic settings from auto (there's a choice of high performance nvidia graphic and integrated graphic) i choose high performance and apply to all. my power settings was also changed to high performance. my FPS is up, but my laptop shuted down by itself (i think it's exhausted) even thought the core temp only reach 70 degrees. but thanks mate , just the screen resolution doesn't seems to be explained why it can't changed into nvidia neither intel on screenshot above, it still can't. anyway my problem now has changed from FPS into an shuted down laptop everytime i play high graphic games. thanks
