Huh. But isn't Computex still few more days away? I thought Computex would be the giant feed of fresh info.

Are you confusing AMD with Nvidia? Nvidias custom cards should be out tomorrow for the 1080, with the release date. Computex = Polaris info

Yeah, I really hope the 1070 will have the same design, i'm close to buying a new case if this thing doesn't fit

The fact that I do not know what I actually confused with what confuses me.

Ooh.
17seconds clearly answered to the Asus Strix post. No idea how I though it was all about AMD.

Same here. Now the only thing I am still thinking about is whether to go full out on the 1080 or wait for 1080ti since I want to upgrade to 3440x1440 as well.

I would pass a GPU upgrade if I could, but my HD5870 just barely manages to run the newer titles on low settings. That's why I'm so pumped about the 1080ti, assuming the rumors are true.

As 17seconds said just a few posts earlier: the custom cards should be available tomorrow.

I know, but it is still possible

So I had been following the articles about PASCAL the past few months and was pretty convinced they were well worth the cost.

But, come to find out the "cut-down variants" of what has been advertised is nothing compared to what has been advertised. I can't afford the 1080, and was gonna stretch for the 1070; but the 1070 doesn't even have the same memory as the 1080, and the 1080 doesn't even have the same memory as what was previously advertised (1TB/s bandwidth). I was thinking, okay, so the cut-down would have what, 700-800GB/s?.. Nope. They have but a mere fraction of that. Watered-down to but a smidgen of increase compared to the big hype of advertisements. But they still say it's 2x and 3x the performance in VR, which is what the memory is for right? Maybe I'm confused. Anyone?

memory isnt the only thing that matters it is a new arc and that helps significantly

As the foundries are using different nomenclatures for what seems to be the same process I don't think that would have made any difference, there is more to the performance level than the size of the transistor node.
