thinking which of these card should i buy

i'm not a hardcore gamer or so. The games i would run with my rig will be RPGs like assasins creed witcher etc

heres my rig

CPU: i5 2500 3.3GHz
MOBO: MSI z77a-GD65
MEMORY: 8GB
PSU: Aerocool Templarius Imperator 650w 80 bronze

aslo will my PSU be able to handle either of the cards? Thanks!

the two was about equal. with 280X have advantage on VRAM side since it has 3GB. power consumption probably about the same as well. 650w should be enough for a single 770 or 280X but i don't how good that PSU is. why not try looking for 1060 or RX480?

Budget constraints. My psu has a 42a at the 12v rail

what other cards you can get with your budget? the game you mention actually nvidia sponsored title. so they probably run better on nvidia card. but 280X have advantage of having more VRAM. so your choice.
