Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 Constant Driver Crash

So I have been having this problem ever since I built this PC, I just honestly haven't had the time to really get down to the real issue and try to fix it. I thought it was the GPU itself so I RMA'd it and they said there was nothing wrong with it and sent it back. Some games play fine even though they're more graphically intensive. Skyrim, Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls Online, all on Ultra with many many mods installed. This GPU-Z I'm about to show you is from today's XCOM Enemy Unknown. I did a few with settings on low and with different resolutions instead of native and there was no difference in my results aside from a degree or two in temperature.

Just a driver crash, so the game will freeze screen locks up for a min then I can alt tab and force close whatever game I'm playing. IF the game recovers it will crash again within seconds.

Have you done a clean install on your latest nvidia drivers?

Well the log looks fine, actually says your card is barely ticking along. Highest I see is 26.6% load, so not really useful information. Unless you had it under what you consider a heavy load, then something else is wrong.

I thought to come here to recommend not installing Nvidia's latest driver, which appears to have some issues. But if you say the problem has persisted for a long time that probably isn't it.

If the GPU has been tested externally and shows good, then the problem is either in your computer or in your software/OS.

Normally I would lean towards system memory or system power when you have random crashes. If you see problems consistently when a certain amount of system memory is consumed, that usually tells you what the problem is. Power is a little more tricky. You can check the voltage of the power supply via software somewhat reliably, but with multi-rail designs that can be problematic.

If you monitor voltages within the system under load, make sure that the voltages stay within the ATX spec:

If not, RMA or replace your power supply. Dirty power is hard to see without an oscilloscope and the knowledge to use it. Back to the multi-rail issue. You have 4 12V 20amp rails, if any one of them is overloaded, that could cause issues. Make sure the power cords are distributed as evenly as possible throughout the system. Motherboard is likely on one, CPU should be on another, and your GPU should have at least two (one is barely acceptable)

Checking your Windows logs might lead you to an answer if it comes down to a software problem.

Actually, load is bold when listed. It goes up to 100% then to 0% when the driver crashes. EDIT: I know the log is messy, but I tried to bold it

EDIT 2: Jumps from 22 to 99/100

EDIT 3: I have used Beta Drivers, Older Drivers, and Up-to-Date Drivers from the past year and nothing has changed.

Ah didn't notice the bold. Such a brief burst and temperatures look fine. It could be bad GPU memory. If you can get ahold of any other GPU and test it, that would be quite conclusive.

No way to get any other GPU sadly other than the built in intel hd graphics from my haswell chip. Any advice? Actually had it at one of the only computer repair shops in town but they never "experienced" the problem. I experience the problem about every 15min so it's not like it's uncommon or rare.

Bump? I mean, if I just knew what could possibly be wrong with it then I would know what to talk to tech support about. Right now they're at a loss but don't want to replace the product because according to their tests everything seems fine. So any help would be appreciated.

Best to start removing variables. I know lot of people don't like to hear this, but wipe your drive, or get another drive and put Windows 7 on there in trial mode and see if you can duplicate the problem under other circumstances.

Disable audio cards, network adapters, and other onboard peripherals one at a time to see if it makes a difference.

You could have a faulty power supply, even a loose connection in one of the wires (heat could expand it and cause a momentary voltage drop to trigger the crash)

There are so many things it could be.

1) I actually have tried different combinations of OS's Win 7 (SP1), 8, 8.1, 10 all blank with just OS, drivers and game that was causing issue at the time it was World of Warcraft (still causes issue, no longer play because of it). Have also tried different HDDs.

2) Hadn't tried this until now, I'm not sure what all else I could disable... Still no positive resolution.

3) Actually this is a new PSU old one was faulty on a single rail and RMA'd it this one is perfect and everything is connected firmly I triple checked.

Worth noting that on the box of my GPU it says it requires a 600W PSU. My PSU is 750W, I was told by tech support that it should be more than enough, but just to be safe I have unhooked all of my HDDs except the main OS HDD and the only thing I have leeching power is a mouse and keyboard. If it's a power issue though you would think it would show up in the log, that the voltage would spike or drop when the load spikes. It does not which is strange.

Software logs don't generally track voltages. You can use monitoring tools. But voltage alone is not enough to determine a power supply problem. Wattage is important to building a stable and reliable system, but I was not describing a lack of power. You could have ripples in the DC outputs, yes, sags and spikes, but these are things that can really only be measured externally with a decent oscilloscope.

Without more hardware to test with, I would say you are going to have to live with it. Or you can start replacing parts.
