NVIDIA Geforce gtx 940 Power managment issue

Hope you all are doing good.
I recently bought a new laptop.
Model HP 15- ab202tx
Geforce gtx 940m 2gb
core i5 6600u
12 gb ram
1 tb hard.

The issue is that when i play any game while charging, game give me low fps. but when chrger is off, the game shoots up the fps and get more better. Please help me with this issue.
 
Solution
At a guess, it's thermal throttling.
When your hardware like graphics card gets too hot, it will reduce its performance to try to cool itself better.
When you charge your laptop while using it, it will draw a lot of power aswell as trying to charge the battery. This can create massive heat, feel your battery and underside of your laptop after a session of gaming, it will prob be quite hot.
You can run a program called speedfan that will monitor your temps, you can see from there if temps surpass recommended hardware limits.
