Hi, I have a problem with my videocard or driver, when I play any game or try to use Photoshop flash player on firefox, a times it happens that the video driver crashes giving the error
"Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered".

My configuration is:

Asus Rampage V Extreme x99
Intel core i7 5930k @4.12GHz + Corsair H110i closed water cooling
Kingstone DDR4 predator 32GB @3000MHz CL15
2x Asus STRIX geforce GTX 980 SLI
Corsair AX1500i 1500W PSU
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

I try to use a single card, removing the other one, but crash still append. I Switch with the card, but nothing.

I try to use corel studio X8 to create a video but, it tells me my video card does not support CUDA, but on the manufacturer's specifications there is compatibility with CUDA.

I try to plug the card in a different PC but crash still append.
I try to reinstall driver with clean installation, removing PhysicsX and 3D driver, cleaning all nvidia driver in save mode but nothing the video card in new I bougth both in may 2015.... any help?

thanks for aid

:)

OK I'have fix it.

1. remove driver with Display Driver Uninstaller
2. download and install, with a clean installation, an old driver compatibile with your videocard, not optimized for specific game. I have Geforce 980GTX and I choose driver 345.20 (24.2.2015)
3. restart PC
4. check for windows update and install Nvidia driver.
5. using ASUS Tweak or MSI Afterburner increase Maximum Voltage and Power to maximum allowed, the other parameter as default. important use only 1 of them not both!

Following this steps, this week, I dont get any driver Crash. Before I get 5-10 video driver crash every day. I tried couple of games:

  • ■ "The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt" 85-100 fps @1440p maximum settings
    ■ "Batman: Arkham Knight" 75-90 fps @1440p maximum settings
    ■ "Neverwinter Online" 140-250 fps @1440p maximum settings (texture 75% for texture problem, everyone has it for about a year)
    ■ "Torchlight 2" 150-190 fps @1440p maximum settings
    ■ "Crisys 3" 90-120fps @1440p maximum settings
    ■ "Tomb Raider" 125-135fps @1440p about all maximum settings (with hair super realistic, 111-115fps)

Thanks for support 😀

I think i will give this a go since NOTHING ELSE has worked for my 980!!!
