News Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Gets Geekbenched

It costs up to 1/3 less than a 3090 with probably no more than a 5% performance reduction. Sounds like bargain.

I don't think using the RTX 3090 as an example helps your argument.

The fact that the RTX 3090 costs so much to begin with.
Exhibit B: Corporate Greed

Creating a top-tier product, at an obscene price, so you can sell more of a cheaper but comparable product is a common sales tactic that is as old as commerce itself.
Exhibit C: Corporate Greed

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Doesn't make any of them true.

RTX Titan - $2500. RTX 3090 much faster. 40% cheaper. Total bargain.

True. If you've got the coin go for it.
I was just pointing out the fact that GPU manufacturers don't care about the consumer they only care about money and that the idea of 'getting a good deal' is actually a carefully cultivated sales tactic.

You're a total Mark if you think any company out there gives a crap about the consumer. Every business only cares about money, that's what lets them keep operating.

If you think a GPU that looks like to be a B version of a 3090 will cost 30% less then you are out of your mind. The difference will be on the 12gb vram cost and that is it so MSRP will sit at $1200-$1300 otherwise the 3080 has no place on the market.

Caring about customers is the best way to ensure you make money out of them but that only applies when there is competition which is not this case so customer care is an after-thought

Since mining profitability rates are what is driving the costs up, 3080Ti's should be at least 30% cheaper than 3090's if the 50% hash rate limiter actually works since the 3090's will continue to not have an LHR version. If the limiter is bypassed shortly, then the 3080Ti and 3090 will sell for about the same price on the 2nd hand market since they should mine pretty similarly.

I was talking MSRP and I was right : 1200$ MSRP. Rather buy the damn 3090 if you are going that deep anyway.

MSRP is a worthless counterpoint. The only place on the planet you can get a 3000 series card at original MSRP is from Best Buy which has FE drops every few weeks that are available for literally seconds. So if that's your plan, good luck. Out of the 9 aftermarket 3090's Best Buy has listed, 7 of them are $2100 or more. If you think a $2100 3090 makes more sense than a $1500 3080Ti, I wouldn't agree.
