Im looking into a gpu config for a gaming rig. At first i was considering taking my current 760 sc 4gb card and getting another and using them in sli. My other considerations were sli 970s/ Single 970, a single 780 or 780ti, or a single 980.

The build will be

Core i5 4690k

Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Kingston Fury White Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Kingston Fury 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Fractal Design Define XL R2 (Titanium Grey) ATX Full Tower Case

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

(3x)
Noctua NF-A14 PWM 82.5 CFM 140mm Fan
Noctua NF-A14 PWM 82.5 CFM 140mm Fan
Noctua NF-A14 PWM 82.5 CFM 140mm Fan

Single 970 seems to be the best bet. Though if you're planning on running a higher resolution than 1440p I strongly recommend the 980. As you may have heard there's a lot of fuss about the whole VRAM fiasco that affects the 970. You might want to read into that before buying one. Though having a 970 myself I can say it's a great card, runs cool and performs top notch!
