NVidia Graphics Driver consistently closes for apparently no reason.

Hey -
I recently installed Windows 7 (from Windows Vista; my computer came with Vista and I took a long time to upgrade, obviously), and I've been having troubles when it comes to graphics - in games, especially. I found out that it's because I have no graphics drivers installed, so I tried to download the drivers from NVidia's website. I am completely sure I got the right drivers.

When I run the installer, it shows the splash screen, then when it opens up the installer, it does its "Checking for available hardware" or whatever thing for a while, and then when I click "Accept and Continue" after that finishes and tells me I can start, the window just closes. The process is still running, but no amount of waiting helps; it just closes and stays closed forever. I have to manually close the process in the Task Manager.

Any idea why that might be?
I'm using an NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX.

Okay. Try uninstalling the graphics driver and then restart. It will be reinstalling itself when you logged in and then it will require you to restart again after the installation is finished to have the drivers working upon startup.

I've done this since I have your graphics card on my last PC.
