Nvidia Graphics Drivers keep failing to install graphics card

I recently purchased a new Graphics card (Zotac Gtx 1050 ti). When I try to Install drivers for the graphics card, the installer gives me an error message which reads "the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I do not get any signal from the GPU to my monitor and I had to use a VGA cable directly from my motherboard to actually use my PC. I have consulted my PC manufacturer and they suggested that it might be because the PCI-E x16 slot cannot draw enough power to supply to the graphics card. I have a 400w power supply, however it does not have a 6 pin connector. I am wondering If I should return the current GTX 1050 ti and purchase another one such as the gigabyte G1 gtx 1050 ti as it has a 6 pin header on it and also purchase a male sata to 6 pin connector. I have tried everything to fix this issue, from updating windows to even modifying the INF files within the directory. My conclusion is to buy a new graphics card with a 6 pin header and a sata to 6 pin connector.

MB: Asrock n68-gs4 fx
CPU: AMD FX 4300
RAM: 16GB DDR3
(OLD) GPU: Asus GT 730 1GB DDR3

I know I do not own the best system out there but I would appreciate any advice on what I should do next.

The message suggests that Windows (?) can't see the graphics card, so it's possible the graphics card is dead on arrival. At best you could look in Device Manager and check Show hidden devices to see if there's a piece of hardware with a yellow triangle. If there isn't then I would return the card and get a new one.

Go into device manager and see if you can find the video card. If you do see it right click on it and scan it for hardware changes/update drivers. See if you can do that.

Also when you download the drivers, make sure you go to Nvidia drivers and make sure you select the correct drivers for the graphics card. Make sure you download drivers for the 1050ti.

This is the second gtx 1050ti that I have owned and it still is giving me the same issue so i'm almost 100% sure that it's not the graphics card at fault. the first one was an msi gtx 1050ti 4gt.

There is a possibility the PCIe slot itself could be faulty, but to determine that would require a known working graphics card. It doesn't look like your motherboard has a different PCIe slot to test the graphics card either. Is it possible to borrow a graphics card to test?

if you put the GT730 back in the same slot does it work ? if so then your discovered the 1050ti has a need for UEFI Bios which that board you have doesn't carry, probably best card you will be able to run on that system will be a 750TI.

I'm currently using my old graphics card until I figure this out so I really don't think it's the PCI-E slot

if the old GT730 video card works in your system, but the 1050ti doesn't work, I would suspect your old FX system is just not UEFI.

this may be an issue on your motherboard. have you checked your BIOS? is it detected on teh PCIE/PEG config? if its not, then it could be a faulty board, or needs a BIOS update OR you can double-check your AMD CPU pins. make sure not one of them is bent. be sure to have extra thermal paste around as well.

but if your old GPU worked. i guess we can rule all of them out except for the BIOS update. and your board is really old tho and they stopped supporting it from 2015 :/ so you have no choice but rely on using 3rd party driver assist softwares to help you find updates esp for your chipset. popular one is "driver booster".

Can you please link me to a driver assist software. I've tried driver booster and it does not show that the BIOS needs an update.

the site is below here. well if your BIOS is the latest one they have on your mobos support site, then thats it then. just ignore the "upgrade to pro" ads. its a quick install. and just press scan. after you are done installing whatever it finds outdated. then you can uninstall the driverbooster tool. restart into safe mode. run the DDU to clean your graphics. and reinstall the latest nvidia on normal mode.

I've already done the BIOS update from the Asrock website. I'm just curious to know if there is anyway to update the BIOS further than what is being shown on the Asrock website. Clearly the update that they have provided for my MB is not compatible with the GTX 1050 ti. The BIOS is not my strongest point when it comes to my computing knowledge and I don't even think I can upgrade my BIOS further than what Asrock has provided, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

The most used graphics card is the gtx 750ti followed by the gt 730 followed by the gtx 960. This caught my attention as the gtx 960 performs very similarly to the gtx 1050ti. It also makes sense to buy a card from the 900 series as they came out in 2015 which was when the last update for my MB was provided. Can I trust this information and buy a gtx 960 and expect it to work? I'll be able to find a gtx 960 for great value on ebay so it wouldn't be such a bad idea but I just need confirmation from an expert or someone who knows what they're doing to tell me if it will work.

so you now have the information that seems to indicate 0 people are using 1050 successfully with a FX43200 and your motherboard.
The GTX 960 because of the age, makes sense it is matching your system.
Ebay can be good for such cards. make sure you buy from reputable people or pay very little for it.

Now thing you must be paying attention to.

1) the GTX 960 requires 1 or 2 PCIE 6 Pin connectors that are needed from power supply for it to work, the 750 TI doesnt
2) the GTX 960 is rated at 120W and the 750TI only uses 60W
this last point is rather important depending on your power supply make and power, the GTX 9xx series can draw 180w all by itself.(especially when overclocked )
3) the GTX 960 will outperform a GTX 750ti in gaming. so it will be more expensive even on ebay.

I also include this comparison, between 2 4GB OC 960 and 750TI cards. the 960 comes up winning almost on all levels.
