NVIDIA gt 555m replacement

Hello, I have a Lenovo Y570 laptop with a gt 555m gpu, which is giving plenty of problems (first i got blue screens all the time when it wasn't in use (meaning when i was using only the integrated gpu)) then i formatted the laptop and now the nvidia gpu just turns off and I have to unplug the laptop, remove the battery and hold the power button for 15 seconds which is annoying, so my guess is that the nvidia GPU is problematic. So question is which GPUs can fit in the slot of a gt 555m and how much do they cost because I can't seem to find pricelist for mobile gpus anywhere. Thank you.

for laptops unless specified (usually in gaming notebooks only) the parts are not interchangable. gotta buy a new laptop or get it repaired

The video card in that system is not in a slot its soldered to the motherboard, to replace the GPU you have to replace the entire motherboard.

Precisely what I was afraid of hearing. Seems like I will have to keep something running on the GPU always so that this problem doesn't happen...

I would recommend buying a new desktop computer.

It's somewhat of an aged laptop so upgrade would be reasonable. However, I would suggest you trying to install the latest driver for it or reinstall it.
