I am writing this because I am at my wits end. I purchased my Acer Aspire v3-571g almost 2 years ago, and have had nothing but problems with the graphics cards. Whenever I play a game with both cards enabled, say Diablo 3, I get on average 20fps at the menu screen.. fucking retarded.
I disable my gt630m and the fps shoots to 40fps.. If i disable the onboard chip, I lose video and have to restart comp with only the 630m driver. However, the first thing my comp does while starting up, is run windows device installer and installs a very old driver for the hd4000. Also, when I am just using the 630m, my system doesn't recognize it in dxdiag, and any games I play wont recognize it so it acts like theres no video card at all. I have updated all drivers and have tried altering the settings in the nvidia control panel but nothing helps..
I will be uploading a video to youtube to show you what exactly happens.
For now does anyone have any suggestions?

Solution
Uninstall any old drivers. Make sure you've only got latest drivers on the laptop.

Use your recovery disk to help sort out the gt630. See is you can get help from Acer. eg forums, etc.
