Soooo, funny story, I had a GT 710 for quite a long while and as you can guess, it didn't quite show that much effeciency. So, I've decided to upgrade to the GTX 1050 TI. I started installing the whole driver stuff and set the thing up. Thing is: it did not show any improvements in performance at all. CS:GO, for example jumped from like, 40 -ish FPS on low graphics to 30 -ish FPS on high graphics. So, my friend and the internet seem to have results of about 200 -ish FPS. This is something that is very frustrating, considering, I've spent a hundred and fifty bucks on that thing and it does basically nothing. I've been comparing my CPU with my friend as well and they are quite similar in quality and his one is even older. I dunno if you guys could help me, but considering my name is Tom, that should go the right way

Solution
Since you already have a decent GPU, you can cheaply upgrade your whole system. Here is an example of what you could get for cheap.

There are multiple reasons why your computer wouldn't perform the way you think. As J121 said your CPU is weak, basically makes minimum specifications. You have an old HDD and we have no idea how much RAM you have. However, with that setup my guess would be 4GB which would leave nothing for the OS. The only way to get better FPS out of that would be to have 8GB RAM and a faster CPU. However, that is only a temporary solution as your current platform is almost 10 years old.
